Let's make some memories!
A lifestyle photography shoot is all about capturing you and your family, as you are doing something you love – looking relaxed and attractive and feeling good about the experience.
It’s all about having fun. Depending on what you’re into, we could go to the park, play on the beach, feed the ducks by the pond, throw stones in the river or go for a walk in the forest.
Either way I’m passionate about your photographs, as these are your memories. I want your friends to be jealous!
FAQs
A lifestyle portrait is about being yourself. Traditional portraits capture what you look like; lifestyle portraits try to capture who you are. Everybody likes to see children smiling at the camera, but a lifestyle portrait session is more than that – it’s about being themselves, as these are the photos you’ll love the most when they grow up.
Think of it as spending a day with the family, but I come too! We have some time together, whether it’s at the park, at your home or any other location that we choose. As long as you’re comfortable and happy, I do the work! It’s great if you can run about and play and enjoy yourself!
This style of portraiture is also great for couples and individuals who want to capture their true personality.
An average shoot lasts up to 2 hours, which is usually enough time for me to get a great selection of pictures, but not too long for younger children to lose interest. If you have really young’uns I’ll try to keep it as short as possible.
Remember your portrait is going to reflect you and your lifestyle. So clothes that fit well and suit you are great. My natural and relaxed style of photography though does work best when you feel really comfortable, so it’s best not to dress too formally. Clothes with solid bright colours are great for kids and family photographs (where possible look for colours that complement each other). A change of clothing is a nice idea for some different images. For great timeless images, it’s a good idea to avoid clothes with big logos as these may date. Accessories such as hats, wellies, jewellery and scarves are fab as they can really add character.
Another great idea is to bring along personal items and make your images even more memorable. Think sports equipment, your child’s favourite toys, musical instruments and even your pets.
Not at all! I do portraits for individuals, newborns, children and couples too. A birthday, anniversary or engagement is a great excuse to have a session.
Most people prefer to do their own. Should you wish to have a professional hair or makeup artist‚ I can put you in touch with some great suppliers.
As most sessions are outside, weather can sometimes affect this. If it’s too wet or cold I’m happy to reschedule.
The final selection of images go through a post processing stage, which can take up to two/three weeks. You’ll get to see all of your images at a digital viewing at your home‚ allowing you to view them in a relaxed atmosphere. You will be given plenty of time to make your selection and choose your preferred method of presentation. Bespoke framed prints, albums or canvases will be made to order to reflect your personal style. There is no obligation to buy, but I hope you’ll love the images as much as I do
After your viewing session‚ all of the images will be available on my website for friends and family to see. They can order prints for themselves too.
Great news! Give me a call and tell me a bit about you, what you think you’d like from your shoot and roughly when you’re looking at having it done and that’s it – we’ll get a date in the diary.
