Wedding FAQs

Where are you located and what areas of the UK do you cover?

I’m located in Milford on Sea, near Lymington in Hampshire, but I’m able to cover any area of the UK or abroad – please contact me for details.

Are you insured?

Yes of course, I have equipment insurance, Public Liability insurance as well as Professional Indemnity insurance.

Do you have backup equipment?

Yes I always bring backup equipment on a wedding day in case anything should fail.

What happens if you are ill on the day?

Of course I will do my upmost to still cover your day, but if I’m really too ill to work, then I’ve got a network of qualified photographers both locally and nationally that would be willing to step in to help.

Do you offer a CD/DVD of images? How many images are included?

I offer a DVD of high res images with my main package. Because it’s all digital these days, I don’t limit the number of images I take on the day. When I edit them, I cut these down, taking out the blinks and leaving just the best. It really depends on how long I’m with you, but if I’m there all day, it’s usually between 300-400 photographs.

Can we use your photos on facebook, MySpace etc?

Yes, if you’ve bought the DVD of photos you can do what you like with them, but I do ask if you’re putting them on show if you could put a link to my site with each image!

Can we have some photographs in black & white?

When I edit your photos I will choose which ones I think suit black and white, so there will be a mixture. If you don’t want any black and whites let me know!

Will you visit the venue beforehand?

I quite often meet up with the couple at the venue as part of the pre-wedding meeting. I like to have a look around, plan the couple shots, where we can do the group shots and usually sort a wet weather plan. If you’re having a church wedding I’ll come to your rehearsal too, which is a great time to meet close family and the vicar to discuss any requirements.

Do you offer engagement shoots?

Engagement shoots/pre-wedding shoots are something I’m doing more of and absolutely love! One plan is to have this during your venue visit with me (or another location that’s special to you if you wish). This gets you both used to being in front of a camera and also is a great chance to get to know how I work. You then get some great photos that you can show off either as an album, guest book, signature board or on invitations etc. If you’re already married, another great idea is to have an anniversary shoot. Contact me for prices.

If I book you for my wedding, when is the payment due?

Upon booking I take a deposit to secure your date and then the balance is due two weeks before the wedding. Albums and extras can be paid for after the wedding when you order them. Although I offer incentives if you order and pay for these before the wedding, ask me!

Should we provide lunch or dinner for you?

I never expect to be fed (usually I can munch on a sandwich that I’ve brought, whilst you’re eating) but some bride and grooms choose to give me a meal too, which is very kind and I’ll always accept (no dietary requirements either so I’m easy!)

How can I help you on the wedding day?

I always recommend jotting down any group shots, that you want before the day and emailing them over to me (who’s in them and what their relationship is to you). Talking from experience, the weddings that I’ve done that have done this always run more smoothly and we can get the shots done more quickly and efficiently, leaving you time to enjoy the rest of your day. It also helps if you can dedicate someone to help me round up people, e.g. an usher/best man/maid of honour. I also recommend that you have less than 10 groups as it can eat into the day otherwise and get boring for your guests (even though I try to make it as fun as possible!)

What happens after the day?

Well, usually, what happens next is you head off somewhere (hopefully warm and exotic!) for your honeymoon. In the meantime, I get to work on your images. I will have discussed with you what you want in regards to them going on my website (if you’d like them up straightaway, if you’d like a password etc.) Either way, you will get a dedicated page on my site for your wedding photos that all your guests and other friends and family can view and even order photos themselves.

Do you do your own printing?

I control the quality of all the digital files for best colour and tone, with regularly colour calibrated technology. I work closely with a professional photography lab for consistently high quality photographic printing results. By using a professional lab I can ensure that the printed photos have the best chance of long term life without undue fading. All photos are printed on archival paper.

Can I buy albums from you?

Yes of course – I’ve carefully chosen some great album suppliers and have a wide selection to suit all tastes and budgets. These can be ordered after the wedding.

Can we check feedback from other customers?

Yes, I receive a great deal of positive feedback from our customers. You can view some of their comments in the testimonials section of this website here.
